Challenge/Response

Nunc est tempus, hic que locus!

Okay, I just have one question for you today, and that question is: Have you ever gotten anything out of these Apologetics for the Masses e-newsletters that I send out, or from listening to one of my talks?  In other words, have you ever learned something about the Catholic Faith, or how to explain it and defend it, from any of the materials that the Bible Christian Society distributes for free?

If you answered, "Yes, I have," then I would like to ask you one more question: Would you prayerfully consider making a donation to the Bible Christian Society to help us keep doing what we're doing?

As most, if not all, of you know, twice a year I come to you guys and simply ask for $0.10 a day.  That's all, just a dime a day.  That comes out to $3.00/month, or $36.00/year.  That's all I've been requesting for the last 21 years (haven't even adjusted it for inflation!).  If you can help us out with a dime a day...that would be awesome!  If you could do more...that would be awesome!  But, whether you can contribute financially or not, if you would pray for this apostolate to be able to continue bringing the truths of the Catholic Faith to hundreds of thousands around the world each year...for free...that would be awesome!

We reach Catholics and non-Catholics alike; clergy and laity; young and old; rich and poor, in all 50 states and at least 80 countries that I know of.  All with one desire - the salvation of souls.  We want to bring people closer to Jesus Christ through a deeper knowledge and understanding of the truths of the Catholic Faith.  As Christ says in John 8:32, "You will know the truth and the truth will make you free."  That's our desire.  That's our goal.  That's the reason for our existence.  One soul at a time.

If that's a desire and a goal that you share, would you please consider making even the smallest of investments in this little non-profit enterprise of ours?  While you're considering it, I want to share, as I usually do, a few comments I've received in the last several months from folks, so that you can get some inkling of the kind of effect our work is having:

I grew up Catholic, but very poorly catechized; I did not even know we believed Jesus was fully present in the Eucharist until my first year of novitiate. But that made me realize there was so much I didn't know.  You were the first apologist I came across around that time, and I downloaded tons of your mp3s and still have them in my iTunes. Thank you so so much for helping me learn my faith.  One of my greatest passions as a priest now is catechesis; I don't want any Catholic to be ignorant of the treasure that is their birthright!

I started my journey to the Catholic faith around 2007. The church had your cd and I loved it! Thank God for your evangelism!

I just wanted to let you know that I interviewed a guy who is wanting to be a permanent deacon and he attributed his love for apologetics to you.   He told me to thank you for all of your work, and your CDs.  He has successfully applied your methods and has brought at least one person to the faith.

I want to express my sincere gratitude for you and your ministry.  I am a convert (2002) as a Southern Baptist turned Cumberland Presbyterian.  I learn so much from your insights and approach to apologetics...

Thanks to your newsletter and materials I am very active in Catholic apologetics on TikTok today. You are building an Army of well catechized Catholics who are defending the faith.

This tract  [The Roman (Catholic) Road to Salvation] is awesome! I love it, and you nailed it!...I am a professor at a major university. I may "accidentally" leave some copies in lecture halls and in common areas where hundreds of students lounge around.

And, just to update you, I sent out another 37 Catechisms of the Catholic Church to all the non-Catholic pastors in the 35005 zip code (northwest Birmingham).  A mailing of The Roman (Catholic) Road to Salvation tract will go out to all the households and businesses in that same zip code (several thousand) after the first of the year.  That's the 2nd zip code I've blanketed so far.  I've already identified a 3rd zip code that I will start the process with come January.  Also, I've just gotten in some equipment that will enable me to soon start a podcast - maybe before Christmas, but certainly right after New Year's at the latest.

So, if you feel like we're doing something worthwhile, please pray about making a donation to the Bible Christian Society today.  Can you spare $0.10 a day…just $36 for the year?  Maybe $18 today and $18 six months from now?  Or, could you possibly spare a wee bit more?  Whatever you can do, though, is greatly appreciated.  And, please...please!...keep our efforts in your prayers.

If you would like to invest in our work, you can do so in one of two ways:

1) Donate online at: www.biblechristiansociety.com/donate, or

2) Send a check to: Bible Christian Society, PO Box 424, Pleasant Grove, AL  35127

Again, whatever you can do, is greatly appreciated.

In Christ,

John Martignoni
